Signs & Symptoms

Multiple Sclerosis symptoms are very diverse and case-dependant. Often the symptoms will lessen or disappear completely between attacks as is often the case with recurrent-remissive MS. Although attacks appear to be sporadic and random in nature, they are often preceeded by infection by common viruses such as influenza. What's more, attacks are more frequent in the warmer months of Summer and Spring.

The symptoms of an attack may be any number of the following:

  •         Cognitive Disfunction
  •         Depression
  •         Mood Swings
  •         Optic Neuritis
  •         Nystagmus
  •         Dysphargia
  •         Hypoesthesia
  •         Paraesthesia
  •         Diarrhoea
  •         Incontinence

Since MS can affect any of the neurons in the CNS, the disease's effects are widespread and varied.
